Community Apple Press
So, you've got all of those apples from Glean Golden, now what are you going to do with them?
Juice them, of course!
Pressing apples is a fantastic way to process and preserve your harvest. The community Apple Press is provided by Local Food Matters in collaboration with the Golden Food Bank.
How does it work?
The Apple Press is available for rent at $25 a day, CASH ONLY.
Round it to $30 and you can also take home a box of apples for your cider endeavours.
Pick up/drop off is at the Golden Food Bank, to be arranged with the Glean Golden Program Coordinator.
Please note that the Apple Press is heavy and requires two people to carry it. It is best transported in a truck. If you are unable to transport it but are otherwise interested, you are welcome to use it on-site in the Golden Food Bank garden.
An instruction manual with pictures is included to help you assemble and press with ease. Cleaning materials are also provided. Renters are responsible for returning the press clean and sterilized for the next user.
