We are working hard to connect local ingredients with local chefs to provide nourishing school meals for our community. By providing fresh, nutrient dense and seasonal foods, these programs encourage healthy eating habits. By working with local farmers and chefs we are building strong community connections, supporting our local economy and building a resilient local food supply chain.

In 2025 Local Food Matters took a deep dive into our community food system, taking a close look at local food production and access in order to gain a better understanding of how to build resilience into our food system.
We wanted to know how much food is being produced locally, how it is being accessed and through what channels it is distributed. We wanted to know the many faces, places and hands of our local food system, mapping a clear picture of our community food network.
