Glean Golden Fruit Pickers

Interested in connecting with a local apple source? Our Glean Golden Community Fruit Picking Service organizes volunteer fruit pickers in the late summer and fall to gather surplus apples from backyards in our community. Volunteer pickers are welcome to take some of the bounty home with them while the rest is distributed through the Golden Food bank, Farmers Market, or made into Apple Chips and distributed as school snacks.

Such a great way to connect with great people and to experience this abundant local food source!

Beyond simply harvesting fruit, Glean Golden offers a platform for people to connect and work toward a common goal of minimizing food waste and building local food sovereignty. It's an opportunity to not only contribute to a sustainable food system but also to meet like-minded individuals who share a passion for community involvement and environmental stewardship. So, whether you're a seasoned fruit picker , interested in taking some local apples home with you or simply looking for a meaningful way to get involved, Glean Golden provides a fulfilling experience that celebrates both the abundance of Golden’s local foodscape, and the strength of community bonds.
